Psychologisms

psychology Definition: The application of psychological terms to everyday situations.

This is a new page of mine and it is dedicated to my favourite ‘psychologisms’.  Observed being said by unwitting fellow psychologists, these psychological jargonisms infiltrate themselves into casual conversations on a daily basis.

Add your own psychologisms into the ‘comments’ section…

“She was the outlier of drunk” – Overheard in a bar.  A fellow psychologist describing extreme drunkenness of a former colleague

“Dont worry, we’ve taken account of your P-ness” – An easy jargonism to make for those familiar with Jung’s model of psychological type.  One to be careful of, if in the company of the uninitiated!
